International Photography Contest and Exhibition ‘MasterClicks 2019’

The fifth edition of the marquee annual Photography contest and exhibition wrapped up unveiling the winners who were facilitated by the guest of Honor Mr. Nimit Nigam and Mr. Janak Bhatt in the presence of Prof (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor JLU, Dr. Vivek Khare, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Dean Student Welfare and Director, School of Law. The contest was open for photographers from all over the world, where the aim was to recognize and bring exposure to them. The photographs with minimalism and class were displayed in the Art gallery of Shree Gurudev Gupta Media Studio of the university. The exhibition will also be carried on digital and virtual platforms as a part of virtual display gallery.

Theme of the event was based on contemporary issues which were supposed to be aligned closely with ‘UN Sustainable Development Goals’ with sub categories Education, Addressing climate change and Life on land. Such Contests aims at providing a platform to students to step out of their realm of what ‘constitutes’ them and speak off boldly through their art work. The incredible emphasis which we have on creativity and cherishing the vision captured through lens makes us the most unique club of the university. Being the club mentor, I believe Jagran Lakecity University is providing a profound platform to its students where they can showcase their talent apart from the academics” shared Ms Divya Gupta, the Photography Club mentor

The Annual Chancellor's Address

The Annual Chancellor’s address was organized at Jagran Lakecity University on 06th August, 2019. At the event, Chancellor, Shree Hari Mohan Gupta addressed the newly joined staff and faculty members as well as congratulated the existing members for their effervescent participation in building the rich legacy of the institution. The Chancellor accentuated the importance of ‘teachers’ who are the torch bearers and plays the most vital role in the galaxy of education system.  JLU believes in not only maintaining right balance of pedagogy and leaning but also developing leaders who make a difference to the world with their credibility of knowledge and through endeavor for social elevation.
                                
Moving forward, Shri Hari Mohan Gupta, Chancellor and Chairman at JLU and JSWS respectively said ‘At JLU the philosophy for its staff members is simple. It is community over the individuals and team over the staffs. We believe in team work'. He also read few excerpt from Sanskrit shlokas highlighting the benefits and strength of working as a team. During this event, the existing faculties and staff members shared their experience so far at Jagran Lakecity University and encouraged the newly joined members to come forward and join them to achieve the goals together.  









The deans and directors introduced the new faculties and staffs of their respective schools by calling them upon the dies and gave them opportunity to interact with the chancellor himself. The Chancellor also particularized the achievements accorded to the university since its establishment.

‘We have attained this top most position being awarded by chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, University of the year 18-19 consecutively fourth time in a row. We are the only University to be awarded as Global league institute for 2018-19 in UK continuously for second year’. He wished all the staffs to achieve the goals of the university and keep the credo ‘Igniting mind changing lives’ lighted by their efforts.

JLU Wittyfeed Centre of New Media launched by Jagran Lakecity University and Wittyfeed


Jagran Lakecity University and WittyFeed (One of the world’s largest digital content organization) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish "JLU WittyFeed Centre for New Media". The agreement was signed by Mr. Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Pro Chancellor JLU and Mr.Vinay Singhal, Co-Founder and CEO, WittyFeed, in the presence of Prof (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor JLU, Dr. Vivek Khare, Registrar and Prof Diwakar Shukla, Director, Jagran School of Journalism & Communication and Advancement & External Affairs, along with students and faculty of JLU.



The mission of the Centre is to focus on digital content development, encourage digital storytelling and bring about a deeper media education and research in digital space. This Centre is first of its kind in India, where world's top viral content organization and a leading University came together to collaborate and bring students, academia and practitioners together. The centre will critically analyze and help shape development in content and new media from cross-disciplinary and global perspectives both in research as well as in practice. It aims to catalyze practice and innovations and feeds into the existing industry via content development, education and consulting. WittyFeed is a content marketing platform to deliver undiscovered stories in various formats in varied categories ranging from travel to the relationship to humour to DIYS


Speaking on the occasion Mr.Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Pro Chancellor of JLU said “ We are very excited launching this centre which is going to serve as a global focal point for collaboration, research and advancement about content and new media, led by highly trans-disciplinary community of professionals, academicians and practitioners from Jagran Lakecity University and WittyFeed with diverse expertise like Media, Journalism, Advertising and PR, Film and Media, Design, Digital Marketing, Art, Music, Humanities, Hospitality, Technology, Management and Law.”
The MoU signing ceremony was preceded by an Igniting Mind Lecture session, where Mr.Vinay Singhal and Mr. Praveen Singhal, co-founder & CCO Wittyfeed, shared their story of entrepreneurship, success, inspiration, setbacks and Wittyfeed. Students from Jagran School of Journalism and Communication attended the session and participated in this lively session.

 My journey from 2010 to 2019 has been like a rollercoaster ride with amazing experiences on the way. Wittyfeed today is on a brilliant growth trajectory because it has been able to understand and deliver high quality digital content to the masses. MSME announces India’s first media incubation centre at JLU



Jagran Lakecity University and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) came together and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up India’s first ever Media Incubation Centre at Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal. The MoU was signed by Mr. Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Pro-Chancellor, JLU and Mr. V.C Dubey, Nodal Officer, MSME in the presence of Prof (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, Vice Chancellor, JLU and other key stakeholders.

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises under the Govt. Scheme aims at providing opportunities to innovators in development and want their ideas to set up new business venture initiatives and offerings which can be evolved for commercialization.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abhishek Mohan Gupta said, “Jagran Lakecity University has always been at the forefront of aligning academic and real world practice and encourage students and new entrepreneurs in their initiative. This media incubation is one of its kind and aims at providing diverse opportunities in overall development of media entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Jagran Lakecity University also announced establishment of JLU Foundation of incubation and Entrepreneurship. This foundation will act as a platform where all entrepreneurial incubation and startup initiative will converge.
